Each year at the SEMA Show, there is always one model car that dominates the spotlight. Last year, It was the Ford Mustang. Or wait, was it new Chevy Camaro or the Hyundai Genesis coupe? Whatever.  It’s pretty clear I can’t seem to break the rusty cogs loose in my head to recall. These little factoids were purged for more important memories of Tao nightcub’s bathing go-go dancers and my favorite lady friend, Trinity, at the local gentlemen’s club. Worthy memories indeed, but back to the point.

This year, there is no doubt that the Scion FR-S’s and Subaru BRZ’s are dominating the spotlight of the 2012 SEMA show. They are simply everywhere. A bit of an overdose to say the least. After only a day at SEMA, I’ve come to the conlusion that 50% of the Scion FRS’s that were sold in Califonia were purchased by companies in the industry looking to develop parts for them. And the other 50%, by eager enthusiasts wanting to purchase said parts. To spare you from the blisters on your feet, we’ve walked the show for you to bring you this compilation of FR-Ss and BRZs from the SEMA show.  Enjoy.

Motul Scion FR-S of SEMA 2012
The Crawford Performance/Motul Subaru BRZ was probably one of my two favorites of the show. Purpose built for the track, this BRZ flaunts Toyo R compound tires and a Brembo big brake kit.  It was probably one of ‘sthe most thoroughly developed and functional minded BRZs of the show.

The Scion FR-S's and Subaru BRZ's of SEMA 2012 Crawford Performance
The heart of the Crawford Performance FR-S revolves around a custom turbo kit, which utilizes a twin scroll turbo from a Subaru STi.  With this turbo kit and engine build, Quirt Crawford focused on torque.  When all was said and done, the Crawford Performance/Motul BRZ produced 429 BHP and a whopping 468 ft/lbs of torque.

Evasive Motorsports Scion FR-S
My hands down favorite though, was the Evasive Motorsports Scion FR-S.  Gutted and caged, it was all business on the inside. The fabrication on this was done entirely in house at their facilities. Inspired by the Super GT race series, this FR-S has great expectations. Evasive Motorsports has plans to compete at the Pikes Peak international Hill Climb – which will be a first for the Scion FR-S and Evasive Motorsports.

HKS Scion FR-S, BRZ supercharger kit
The HKS supercharger kit produces 236.8 ps and appears to be a simple and super clean install.  The supercharger is a Rotrex style, but according to the HKS engineer, uses a modified design with unequal diameter roller planets which reduces shaft wear and friction.
