First Circuit Battles Episode to Air Saturday, April 30th at 2 pm Eastern!!!

Redline Track Events is excited to announce the updated broadcast date for the highly anticipated show Circuit Battles airing on VERSUS. The first of episode to air on VERSUS premieres Saturday, April 30th, at 2 p.m. ET., featuring all of the action from Round #1 of the 2011 Season: Willow Springs International Raceway.

Circuit Battles introduces an evolutionary format and concept for circuit racing, pitting up to 16 teams in head-to-head, two-lap “circuit battles” on some of the most challenging road racing circuits in North America. The result of a five-lap Super Session seeding race fills the double-elimination bracket. Drivers will then face off in the hotly contested, “green, white, checker” two-lap races, with the winner moving on and the loser moving to the loser’s bracket or loading their car in their trailer.

A diverse group of vehicles and drivers will be involved in the inaugural episode of Circuit Battles, with vehicles such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru STI, Pontiac GTO, Porsche 911, MINI and Nissan 350z. The group of drivers represents a broad range of racing success and experience: Grand-AM, American Le Mans Series, World Challenge, Redline Time Attack and SCCA.

“We’ve taken advantage of the extra time afforded us from our decision to delay the initial broadcast of Circuit Battles,” said Nikolas Malechikos, President of Redline Track Events. “The additional effort we’ve put into the Circuit Battles program is going to make for some wild entertainment!”

A Winner Every four Minutes!

The new format of racing provides for rapid-fire action and edge-of-the-seat entertainment for motor sport fans. A total of 15 heads-up battles will take place over the course of the 30-minute episode, in addition to highlights from the wild 5-lap Super Session seeding race, offering an easy to follow and engaging motor sports entertainment experience.   Every episode of Circuit Battles will showcase highlights from all of the on-track action and behind the scenes drama in stunning HD.
