Hair of the Dog.

SEMA is how I picture whatever afterlife you may believe in for the car enthusiast- performance street cars, hot rodders, crazy trends on wheels; a (seemingly) endless display of shock and awe in vehicle form.  Though here on Earth, SEMA is that party everyone wants to go to but only some are invited.  Luckily, we at MotoIQ came equipped to blab!  Last year’s SEMA looked a little like somebody let the air out of the tires- deflated.  The convention turnout was weak, the parties were your typical sausagefest but it was more like the attendance of a poker night than a club event, and you’d have thought only the Chinese knockoff companies would survive- signaling the end to automative R&D.  This year was revving back up again.  What were empty spaces in ’09 were filled in ’10 by all things too big, from Dubs to silicone-enhanced import models.  I’ve been covering SEMA for years now and I’ve seen trends come and go and eventually boomerang back again.  Cars and trucks have been decorated with everything from chalkboard paint to more bling than a rapper’s grill.  So what were the trends for 2010?
