KraftWerks Announces Honda Fit High-Boost Supercharger Kit

If you are a fan of the late model B-Segment cars, you probably feel like us that the Honda Fit is one of the best of the breed.  It certainly has the best handling.  However the cars in this segment are pretty anemic and the amount of truly effective performance parts for these drivelines has been lacking.  Well now things have changed as KraftWerks is pleased to release their new Supercharger kit for the Honda fit.  If you didn't know, KraftWerks is the brain child of supercharger guru and long time veteran master Honda tuner Oscar Jackson.  If you know Oscar like we do, you can be confident that these are complete and well engineered kits.

KraftWerks' Honda Fit High-Boost Supercharger Kit measures in at 163.7 whp and 132.2 lb-ft torque at 10 psi. The dyno sheet reveals horsepower and torque gains throughout the powerband

The KraftWerks Fit kit pumps out an Impressive 164 whp and 132 lb/ft of torque at 10 psi for the first-generation (’07-’08) Honda Fit.  The KraftWerks kit come complete with an under-hood intercooler, cowl induction kit and Hondata engine management. KraftWerks supercharger system promises reliable, turn-key horsepower in both daily driving and track day performance.

The High-Boost Supercharger Kit includes a air-to-air intercooler that mounts neatly under the hood, in between the throttle body and radiator, and picks up airflow from the KraftWerks intercooler cowl.

The KraftWerks’ kit features the remarkable and innovative C15-60 traction drive Rotrex supercharger. The innovative traction drive is silent and effectively decouples the supercharger under light loads to minimize the impact on fuel economy.

Forced induction of late model motors without proper engine management using regulators and other bandaids is risky business but KraftWerks solution is complete. They  called upon the engineers at Hondata to tailor the Fit’s ECU to high-boost duties. The ECU’s fuel and ignition maps have been calibrated to the kit’s RC Engineering 310cc fuel injectors making a true plug-and-play solution that’s safe, reliable, and functions with the stock header/catalytic converter combo or any number of full-race exhaust manifolds. Hondata also lowered the VTEC window for improved driveability, removed the speed limiter, and raised redline to 7,100 rpm. The result is the perfect compromise between daily driving and track performance. Hondata’s Honda Fit ECU reflash is available exclusively through KraftWerks and is currently the only Fit tuning solution available.

This carbon-fiber cowl fits in place of the small, plastic pop-out master cylinder inspection cover located just below the windshield where high-pressure air is trapped and diverted across the intercooler

Safety and reliability is further enhanced with an intercooler package. KraftWerks knew that their customers wanted an intercooler, but we also knew that they weren’t interested in ditching their fog lights or chopping up their front bumpers just to get a front-mount intercooler to fit. KraftWerks’ solution is a cowl mounted air-to-air intercooler system that mounts neatly under the hood in-between the throttle body and radiator.  The intercooler is fed cold air from a provided carbon fiber intercooler cowl. The cowl fits just below the windshield where high-pressure air is trapped and diverts cold airflow across the intercooler. The entire kit bolts on without any cutting or permanent modifications to the vehicle and includes provisions for both the intake air temperature sensor and the supercharger bypass valve.

The entire kit bolts on without any cutting or permanent modifications to the vehicle and includes all necessary brackets and hardware for a straightforward installation

Finally, KraftWerks says If you replace the restrictive stock exhaust manifold with a header, gains as high as 7 whp and 13 lb-ft of torque more have been found in addition to the claimed 164 whp.  We look forward to doing a full evaluation of this kit in the future.  Good Job KraftWerks!

I bought the base kit in 2009 and upgraded to high boost in 2010... In the 3 years that I have had the KWSC I have had a ball... The base kit felt very much like something that came from Honda.. I lost a couple of mpg but only because I was hot shoeing the car all of the time... The upgrade uses quite a bit more fuel usually getting about from 28 to 33mpg.. I think the Hondata tune is set up to run rich as a safety measure to prevent engine damage... With the base kit I had a fast Fit.. With the high boost upgrade I have a fast little car that makes my son scream like a little girl when he is in the passenger seat... He has to have at least 6 Heinekens before he will get in the car... He does enjoy laughing at people in sportier cars that are known to be fast when they try to stay with me when I'm in a hurry..
