If you’ve followed our coverage of the Indy 500 here for the last couple years, you may have been mistaken for thinking that there isn’t much to do on Indy weekend aside from...you know...watch the race.  But that is where you would be mistaken.  The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has dedicated a lot of time and resources into turning the Indy 500 into a three day event, celebrating tradition, speed, and teamwork.  If you’re planning to attend the 500, plan to call in sick and spend Friday and Saturday enjoying the sights and sounds of Indy.

Analyzing Turn by Turn- the Leavitt Machinery Knox Mountain Hill Climb Course Technical Analysis

by Frank Ewald

The cover photo is of Wouter Bouman's 916 whp 3-rotor Mazda that put down 916 whp the week prior to the event while. During this anniversary edition of Knox Mountain Hill Climb, Wouter captured the overall victory and set a class record in the process. This is the 60th running of the Knox Mountain Hill Climb hosted by Leavitt Machinery. To this writer's knowledge, this is the oldest continuously running hill climb event in North America. The parkland at the start line quickly changes to the mountainous terrain that you can see in the background. That should give you a hint for what is in store.

Nerd’s Eye View: 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R

by Khiem Dinh

If you’ve been following World Superbike, you know Kawasaki has been dominating. The motorcycles used in World Superbike are highly modified motorcycles you can buy from your local dealer. World Superbikes are to street bikes like FIA GT3 cars are to street cars. Yeah, the bikes are highly modified, but the fundamental base is the same unlike MotoGP bikes. MotoGP bikes are the equivalent of Formula 1 where they probably don’t even share a bolt with the street bike. Back to the point- Kawasaki bikes kick ass in World Superbike, and the ZX-10R bike you can buy kicks ass too.

Global Time Attack Round 2: Buttonwillow Raceway Park

by David Kim

With this in mind, welcome to Global Time Attack! Let’s get started.

The Blackbird Fabworx Morpheus Miata!

by Mike Kojima

The cars created by Moti Almagor of Blackbird Fabworx have always caught our attention. More for less has always been the theme his creations. The Blackbird Fabworx cars have always eked amazing speed out of stock, very low powered engines. Lightweight, meticulous care in chassis setup, balanced brakes and carefully thought out aerodynamics have had a harmonious interplay in developing incredible speed from very little horsepower.

The Continual Beginner

by Christy Carlson

Repetition leads to boredom. Boredom leads to unrest. Unrest leads to new beginnings. Well, that, and running out of means will force a person to "reconsider the options available" in a fairly brisk manner. I've been precariously balancing the pocketbook of life for a while, be it health or wealth, youth and unrest, ambition and means. This is my life in motorsports, starting at 25.
