A Ralliart Colt? Most of us here in the US of A are probably unfamiliar with this car but this vehicle did exist in North America way back when. An uncle of mine had a Dodge Colt, you know, back in the day when it seems half of the Dodge products were rebadged Mitsubishis. Anyway, in the regions of the world retaining right hand drive, the Mitsubishi Colt lived on. On top of that, there was a Ralliart version!

As the 2015 WTAC has just ended with the Titlon Evo piloted by Garth Walden setting another world record by lapping Eastern Creek at a blistering 1:23.777 pace, let's take a close look at the world's fastest unibody car, the winner of the 2015 WTAC and overall world record holder, the mighty Tilton Evo.  Currently the Tilton Evo is the epitome of time attack state of the art and showcases just what can be done when maintaining the standard unibody to a car built nearly to the fullest extent of the rules with almost no expense spared.

Finding Nemo: How The Car Known as Nemo Changed the Face of Time Attack Racing And Where The Car Is Now.

by John Smallberries

When the Nemo Racing Evo debuted in August 2012 at the World Time Attack Challenge, it underwent little testing prior to the event.  Ran at the hands of MR Tuning from Queensland Australia, it then proceeded to annihilate existing records.  People tend to use a lot of superlatives when discussing track records, even when they are bumped by just a couple of tenths, but this was truly monumental, a jump of 3.8 seconds from the Cyber Evo’s 2011 record and nearly two seconds ahead of Tilton Interiors who were the favorites to win and packing 1000 HP.  Nemo was more than just a champion car; it was a game changer!  Fear and disarray followed among other competitors and even the fans.  The backlash resulted in a shake up of the regulations for the first time.  Nemo appeared once more in 2013 and limped to a third place finish.  Then the car disappeared, with no more public appearances, most notably absent from WTAC 2014.

Some of the cars at Australia's World Time Attack or WTAC for short are so amazing and so exotic that for most of us, we can just look and drool.  We were looking at cars to feature and we wanted to show what could be done for a moderate amount of cash by regular people.  Clean solid work by smart people but nothing that needed open wheel or prototype levels of engineering and fabrication skill.  In short, something that most of us or a good local shop could build with a regular person reachable budget.

With day one of competition in the books, it was now time for the final showdown to commence at Sydney Motorsports Park. Scorch Racing was at the top of the Pro Class leaderboard, with MCA and Tilton nipping at their heels less than a second behind. And who could have predicted that a Pro-Am car would be at the top of the overall rankings!? PMQ Racing's Evo blistering time of 1:25.27 was the talk of the paddock at the end of Friday's competition schedule and fans and teams alike we're anxious to witness what would happen on the final day of the 2014 World Time Attack Challenge.

The World Time Attack Challenge has come a long way since its initial running back in 2008 when it was simply an Australian time attack event. WTAC has grown from a national event to one of the most anticipated time attack events in the world. The formula has been a very simple one, provide a venue and the means for the fastest time attack machines in the world to compete while giving fans a wide variety of motorsport related activities to enjoy. The level of competition at WTAC is on a completely different level than we're used to seeing in the states. Couple that with an extremely passionate fan base and there is no surprise why the WTAC has earned a permanent spot in our event calendar.

Your nerd herd may have missed last year's World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC), but thanks to the amazing team over at BorgWarner we are heading back down under! We can't begin to tell you just how excited we are to be making the trip over to Sydney Motorsports Park again, as this event has really made a mark in the the time attack world. Every past WTAC has been filled with excitement and controversy, and there's no reason to think this year would be any different. Will the Tilton Evo defend its title? Or will a brand new unheard of team emerge victorious? And the million dollar question on the minds of all MotoIQ fans around the world, would the Ark Designs BNR32 turn some competitive laps?

World Time Attack Challenge 2012 - Final Competition Day

By Martin Gonzales

The Australian teams kicked ass and took names on the first day of World Time Attack competition.  Nemo racing oblitirated Cyber Evo's 2011 championship time and Tilton Racing was not far behind.  Would anyone be able to catch Nemo Racing?  Better yet, would Cyber Evo make it on track and defend it's title against the Aussie power houses?

The 2011 World Time Attack Challenge wrapped up this afternoon with a fizzle rather than the fireworks we were hoping for from Team America.  If you've been following our updates on Facebook you know USA's Sierra Sierra took a big lead earlier in the day with a 1:29.0240 lap at the expense of a head gasket.  You also know a protest by the Cyber EVO crew alleging the only way a car as heavy as the Sierra Sierra EVO could turn a time that fast was if they were squeezing NOS added a little drama to the day.  Head game or not, Tarzan responded with a blistering 1:28.8510 lap in the Cyber EVO--rumor has it at the cost of a turbocharger they had no replacement for.

Day one of competition is in the books!  Weather was perfect, fans were out in force and the competition was fierce.  The field of 100+ put on a great show as they pushed every limit of their cars.  Records fell and only fractions of a second separate the top 3 cars in the Pro Class.
