MotoIQ Radio: Brian Kleeman of Monsoon Motorsports and Grand Prix Weekend

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

It's the Grand Prix of Long Beach and that means Formula Drift kicks off round 1. I'll talk about that and we'll look into the Motegi Super Drift this Saturday. We'll also discuss open wheel, sports cars, trucks, and more that happens during the Grand Prix of Long Beach! Then we'll have Brian Kleeman of Monsoon Motorsports to talk about the challenges of World Challenge GTS in such a tight street circuit. We'll also talk about last weekend because, while it didn't end so well, it started off great for Brian and was an early showing of Nissan's power in sports cars. Got comments or questions tonight? We'll have a Facebook hashtag for you to use again so we can comment on it!

MotoIQ Radio: Kerryann talks about the California Superbike School

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

Kerryann mentioned it last week, she went back to school! Well, alright, it was the California Superbike School. She's actually been riding for many years so I'll ask her what she learned, relearned, and what to stop doing. We'll then touch on the bike she was able to ride on and get a quick review on it and the school itself. We'll also talk a little IMSA, Formula 1, and NASCAR to see what the hell is going wrong with motorsports in 2014. Got comments on what you've seen of any of these series? We'll have a Facebook hashtag for you to use so we can comment on it!

MotoIQ Radio: The Mint 400 and Mike Essa of Essa Autosport

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

Tonight on MotoIQ Radio, we're talking Mint 400 and Mike Essa! This weekend is the incredible Mint 400 and this race is probably best remembered as the race that was mentioned in the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" or, if you're old enough, the Rolling Stone article written by Gonzo Journalist, Hunter S. Thompson. Kerryann and I will talk about that race and I'll pick my favorites to look out for. Then, we'll have Mike Essa come on and he's made some fairly big moves for his career. Not only is he the 2013 Formula Drift Champion, but now a new businessman (well, again) with Essa Autosport. We'll talk to him about his new garage and maybe even get a sneak peek into his car before Tech Day.

MotoIQ Radio: Joon Maeng, Kyle Mohan, Stephanie Cemo, and Yukio Taira

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

After all the breaking news about Nexen last week, drivers were still in shock by the time MotoIQ Radio was to be aired. Now that a week has passed, we'll now see what two former Nexen drivers are doing for 2014. We'll first have Joon Maeng on to discuss what the next step is for him after some pretty big changes from last year. Then we'll have Kyle Mohan on to talk about his program and see how progress is being made on the Mazdatrix RX-8. While the MPTCC couldn't play in the rain, Global Time Attack's ProAm Shift Sector decided that Buttonwillow was dry enough to hold their first two rounds. We'll talk to Stephanie Cemo and Yukio Taira about that and how wet Buttonwillow really was.

MotoIQ Radio: Edo Stepanyan and Nexen's suprising exit from Formula Drift

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

If there is one thing about Southern California that I've learned in my three years living here, we aren't prepared for any type of weather. Even our racers because there will be a venue change for this weekend's MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Car Championships. We'll talk to 2013 series champion Edik Stepanyan about that and what he'll be planning for in 2014. Nexen made a very surprising and sudden decision to not be a competing tire brand in Formula Drift in 2014. We'll discuss that and see if we can't bring in a Formula Drift guest to talk about it. It's still breaking and former Nexen drivers are scrambling to find a new tire sponsor with less than 1 month to go.
