Dry sump RB26DETT
After the whole oil starvation fiasco with the XS BNR32 Time Attack GT-R, I decided to bite the bullet and go with a dry sump oil system. A dry sump system involves a external oil pump, a oil tank, and a TON of stainless AN hoses and fittings. It's pretty damn expensive. Luckily since I work at Cosworth, Skip in the Champ Car/Formula Atlantic track support department is helping me out with setting up the dry sump. Working at Cosworth has it's advantages. Skip used to manage the NASCAR Busch engine programs and he suggested either an Auto Verdi or a Barnes 5 stage pump. Since XS does not have a money tree, we went with the Barnes pump (the Auto Verdi is about $3500). The pump I g... |
| Happy Chinese New Year! by eric |

Happy Chinese New Year! I had dinner with my family tonight. My cousins Ronica and Laura told me they discovered my blog through a google search. How cool is that? Anyhow, welcome to the year of the PIG.
From Yahoo Astrology: The Pig is the last of the 12 signs, so maybe it should not come as a surprise that the Pig just can't catch a break. True it's your year, but unfortunately there are many unlucky stars in your palace. That 49% rating is an average that masks the fact you are likely to have some very good and bad luck this year.
It sucks to be you! Good luck anyway. You basically have two weeks to party your sorrows away. They party li...

Super Street Magazine Interview - March 07 Issue
One day after the November 2006 Time Attack, Carter Jung from Super Street calls me up and asks me if I want to do an interview. I said cool so he tells me it's going to be a one page deal. After the interview, he and the other editors thought it was so damn funny that they decided to make it 3 pages. Then they ask me a couple more questions to fill the 3rd page. My answers are long and they think that my shit talking is so funny, it turns into 4 pages. I'm not actually shit talking; I'm just speaking the truth. Any of my personal friends will tell you its the same shit I would say in real life. Read it and enjoy! So go out and buy the MARCH 2007 SUPER STREET MAGAZINE<... |

Akihabara - Otaku Heaven Pt.2
Continued from yesterday's post...scroll down for part 1.
So after the maid cafe, we were walking down the street and we saw this 4 story building dedicated to old school video games. We all love Donkey Kong, Galaga, Space Invaders, and Asteroids right? Perfect for the 30 something year old otaku in us so we went to check it out. The first floor was old school game consoles like the original JDM Nintendo Famicom. The second floor was the middle school shit like the PS1,Sega, Colecovision, Intellivision, etc. They even had some Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari 400/800/1200 stuff. The 3rd floor was used new school games and old school J music. The 4th floor was old school game ... |

Akihabara - Otaku Heaven
The last time I was in Tokyo, I stopped by Akihabara the "Electric Town". For tourists, it's known to be the spot to get deals on new or unreleased (in their country) electronic devices. So you can get the coolest stuff before anybody at home does. It's also known as the favorite spot for Otaku. A friend of mine's told me that Otaku can mean freak as in you like something a lot so you're a freak. So if you like golf then you're a golf freak or golf Otaku. But in today's world I believe the word Otaku refers to a dude who is shy around women, nerdy, and/or geeky. They are typically into electronics, computers, cameras, anime, toys, and women. Except that they don't actu... |

Girls at Tokyo Auto Salon 2007
I am severly suffering from a crazy hangover today. I went to my friend's (Nathan at Motec) b-day party/dinner at Garlic Jo's in Newport Beach, CA. The food kicks ass there. I mean the food is REALLY good. After dinner, we ended up going to a bar/club called Detroit in Costa Mesa afterwards and that place was pretty cool too. Needless to say, my friends and I got way faded and I headed back to Torrance with a friend where we continued drinking and stuff until 8am. After the post drinking breakfast, I went to sleep at 10:30am. I'm getting too old for this shit, but it's hella fun while you got the fade on...
Back to the subject at hand. Some of my co-workers and friends... |

Tokyo Auto Salon - Best Cars
I know this is late, but oh well. Better late than never. Below are the dopest cars I saw this year at TAS. To be honest, there was more fashion stuff than I hoped to see. What happened to 1990's JDM when everything was just RAW ASS HORSEPOWER? American raw ass horsepower is no fun; they only use it a 1/4 mile at a time. 1990's JDM is my favorite because they USE the power on the street. There were too many fish tanks, chrome wheels, and vans this year.

NASCAR Somebody put this up on the cork board at Cosworth. I enjoy NASCAR (or at least the last 20 laps), but I thought this was pretty damn funny. Non Athletic
